We are a Toastmasters Club that has been meeting weekly for over 39 years.

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

We are open to anyone over the age of 18.  We are a diverse group of senior managers, consultants, vice presidents, business owners, budding entrepreneurs, purchasing experts and folks who want to contribute and learn.

Our meetings run from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM Every Tuesday morning, except Tuesdays following a Monday holiday.

We meet at Prairie Theatre Exchange in Portage Place Mall. However, due to Covid, we are meeting on line via Zoom.

NEWS UPDATE

At the Spring Convention, May 13, Barb Bayer was awarded the George Craige Memorial Award at the convention last night.

For those of you not familiar with the award, the award recognizes members who don’t normally enjoy recognition, but whose contributions have focused on their home club, through the encouragement of membership growth and retention, while continuing to contribute to the District wherever possible. The award is presented annually at the Spring Convention and is based on the following criteria:

  1. The individual’s efforts to encourage and/or sponsor new members in his or her own club.
  2. The individual’s regular attendance and participation in club meetings.
  3. The individual’s participation in club programs such as Speechcraft and Youth Leadership which fosters healthy membership growth, participation in the Success/Leadership modules which encourages member retention through opportunities to learn.
  4. The individual’s long-standing service to his or her home club.

Congratulations and thank you Barb for all you have done for the club over the many years.

Stan Penner, District Director, Barb Sheryl Bergland-Poirier, Club Quality Director.
